Sha Ka Ree: Origins.
In the mid 22nd century a group of Vulcans settled on the planet of Sakaria after a long expedition to find their Eden, to hem known as Sha Ka Ree.
The group was exiled from Vulcan, like so many before them, for rejecting their belief in logic and choosing to live a life of emotion. When exiled they hijacked a ship and planned to find meaning in their life. They wanted to be touched by their God, believing they would be welcomed with open arms.
Over the years they studied and researched what they knew as the history of the universe and began to believe an ancient extinct race known as the Iconians were the key to finding their God. Their search took them to whats known now as the Kolar region, where they believed the last surviving Iconians had escaped to at the end of a war they’d lost.
When they found Sakaria they believed it was the paradise they had searched for. The last few survivors of the quest settled there and died before they could complete their mission… their children, despite being raised in their beliefs, just wanted to settle down. Those children settled on the planet and became a part of the diverse community of Sakaria. In modern times they are closely connected to the Pridorn and their influence has spread throughout the region.
The Black Order had operatives within the member worlds of the Federation for years and when the Pryor called for the Kolar to seek membership, talks began and a base of operations was offered ot Starfleet and the Federation named after the place the Vulcans had searched for, offering them a paradise to live. The Vulcans that had settled there had become unnoficial ambassadors of first contact with the Federation, the Kolar decided it was fitting to name their city after the belief that brought them to Sakaria.
Sha Ke Ree was designed by the ancestors of the Vulcan settlers and built over only three years as a Federation city within Kolar space, orbiting their central world Sakaria. It’s now the strongest link between the alliance of the Kolar and the Federation, serving as the command centre for the Federations operations within the region and a safe haven for it’s people to relocate and begun a new chapter of Federation history.
